Work Wise: Old Navy Pleated Chiffon Top, Mod Cloth Thrown for a Loop Top, ECI Ruffle Front Blouse & Banana Republic Silk Ruffle Printed Shell

I’m in a constant struggle with myself to balance my work vs. play wardrobe. I either have a couple of dozen tops for work and two for going out or vice versa. I’m trying to get to the root of why I have this problem. After all, I’m no stranger to my favorite boutiques and shops, but I can never quite seem to get the right balance. Let’s not even throw the “for church” dynamic into the mix. Ok, ok, so work and church wear can serve double duty, but you get my point. I’m in hot pursuit of a few nice work appropriate tops.  I stumbled across a few that would be great for suiting, but then lies another problem. I don’t wear suits to work. Not because I don’t like them, but if I dress business casual majority of the time and show up in a suit, you know everyone will assume I’m sneaking away for an interview (surely, I can’t be the only one who’s thought that).

Either way, here are a few options that’d be great work wise looks.

I know some people have issue with anything shear in the office, but paired with a contemporary gray suit, it would look killer.

Work Wise: Arden B. Cowl Neck Sweater Dress & Lane Bryant Cowl Neck Sweater Dress

I’m all about being comfortable at work, but one thing that’s important to remember is that you don’t have to compromise style for comfort. The sweater dress is one of my go-to looks this season. I’ve already purchased two and the Lane Bryant Cowl Neck Sweater Dress will be making its way into my closet. I’ll count it as one of my last self-absorbed purchases before Black Friday.
