I’m the woman who has a million and one key chains on my keys. Don’t act like I’m the only one who read the quotes key chains and has to add it to her keys. I know its time to let that go, so I’m shopping around. I recently discovered the Juicy Couture Neon Crest Key Purse. It’s the best of both worlds for me because I also have problems with all of my change collecting at the bottom of my purse. Since, I’m into bright colors, the neon “Juicy” caught my eye. It was originally priced at $68.00 and now on sale for $51.00. I’ve got a feeling it’s going to go down a bit more, so I’ll wait a while before I purchase. Last night as I watched my favorite-older-cousin-in-my-head Wendy Williams, she gave the entire audience a bottle of Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash. I’ve been a Caress fan for years and keep a bottle of Tahitian Renewal stashed in my bathroom, but I hadn’t come across the Evenly Gorgeous. In fact, I haven’t even seen – or don’t remember seeing – it in my neighborhood Target and I spend lots of time on the soap/body wash isle. I like to have an assortment. If you’re anything like me, when gifts come down to the wire and you check out your bank account, you try to figure out how you’re going to manage to buy those last four or five small gifts. The Deepa Gurnani Lash Headband reminds me of flapper girls and Old Hollywood. Well, actually, it really reminds me of my friend Jennifer. I can so see her wearing it. In the last few days, I’ve been working diligently to combat the onset of a cold. I’ve probably been sick less than 10 times in my entire life, so when I do get sick…I get sick. One thing that always makes me feel better is to curl up in really warm comfy loungewear or pjs. I go through phases of buying lots of loungewear and sleepwear and I’m dead smack in the middle of one of them. One of the best gifts I ever received was about three or four years ago from my sister. She’s equally as creative as I, if not more, so her gift was so much fun. I love Starburst candy so she incorporated this into the gift. I’m the type of person who’s totally content with receiving gift cards but I always feel like there should be some type of presentation to it, rather just handing over an envelope. She tends to agree.

The gift consisted of four nested gift boxes . Each gift box was lined three levels deep with one flavor of Starburst. The smallest gift box included a bracelet and candy. The second included a $25 Payless gift card and candy. The third, a $50 Target gift card, a matching necklace and candy. The largest box included a $75 Lane Bryant gift card and candy. I had such a good time opening each of the boxes. I thought the presentation of the gift cards was brilliant!

Some people seem to have a dark cloud of stress and frustration looming over them throughout December. I try not to stress much over gift giving because I focus on things that are indicative of the receiver’s personality. Case in point, the BFF is fanatical about working out and playing tennis. One year, I made a basket which included two cute workout outfits (just because you’re working out doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish), socks, two large bottles of Gatorade and two large bottles of Figi water. I wrapped it with cellophane and ribbons and ta-da, she loved it! Sidebar: This type of gift wouldn’t go over well with everyone. Translation, don’t gift it to a friend who doesn’t go to the gym or work out regularly. It would seem as if you’re telling them they need to drop a few pounds.

For the next 12 days, I will share gift ideas with you all – I’ll try to keep them all under $50 – to help relieve some of the stress. They may work perfectly for someone in your life or just give you a great idea of something all your own. Some will be a bit creative, others not so much. Let’s face it, some people just don’t appreciate the creativity that goes into some ideas.
