I am a big online shopper for two reasons: I like variety and the web provides access to a huge portal of plus-size boutiques. I frequently order from Igigi, Torrid and a few others, but not b & lu. Let me explain. I’ve placed orders on three separate occasions but haven’t had much luck. The first time my order was inadvertently shipped to an entirely different person. Because I’d ordered the items for an event, I decided to request a refund. Simple and painless, but I was disappointed nonetheless. The second time, I received the wrong size. Again, no big deal – it happens. The third time, I simply wasn’t pleased with the quality (I ordered the Ingrid Top and a skirt that’s no longer available).
I’ve talked to several people who’ve had good experiences with b & lu, so I figure it may just be a fluke. Let me add that I am not a complainer. I’m pretty go-with-the-flow. After a chat with Z. Kay. Walker of Syrup Sandwiches yesterday, I’ve considering giving them yet another try. Call me crazy but every time I go to the site, I find something I want, but that little voice of hesitation pops in my mind.
The b & lu Layla Dress has a retro glam feel with a sheer laser cut out pattern along neckline & bottom hem of skirt. It features an elastic empire waist (great cute for me) and ties in back.

b & lu Layla Dress Reg $59.00 Sale $27.00 / b & lu
Since the b & lu Layla Dress is on sale and I think it’d look nice on me and it has a vintage feel that I adore, I’m at a crossroad. Should I take a chance and buy the dress or say goodbye to b & lu for good? Be sure to comment and let me know about your experiences with them.

I saw a huge surge of celebs in blazers around the time of New York Fashion Week. Think Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Victoria Beckham. I wasn’t really into the long boyfriend blazer style, but I adore the Lane Bryant Cropped Blazer. This would look great paired with the brandy-hued dress I purchased over the weekend.

Love them or hate them, leggings are here to stay – for a while at least. I’ll admit that I initially thought the trend would be over in a few months, but judging from the dozens of websites I visit on a daily, leggings are a wardrobe stable. *thinking* I never would have guessed that I’d ever type that sentence.
Being the plus size fashion maven that I am, I’ve been skeptical of leggings but the more I think about it, the idea of denim leggings isn’t so bad. I can’t be the only one who hates trying to squish her jeans into boots. Even my skinnies give me problems. Leggings are also super affordable, usually costing $25 or less.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know that metallics are a go-to look of the season. I don’t really care for metallic bags, but I’m all over the idea of a metallic jacket. Specifically, the Lane Bryant Cropped Metallic Jacket. When deciding on the right jacket, the most important thing to remember is the style (I’d go for anything cropped). I prefer a muted metallic because otherwise you end up looking like Marilyn Mccoo from her Solid Gold days.
