The Oscars: Fashion Hits & Misfits

By no means do I plan to post a comprehensive list of looks from last night’s Oscars. If I feel inspired enough, maybe, just maybe, I’ll do a Fashion Hits & Misfits Part Duex. Until that time, here are a few looks that stood out to me on the red carpet.

Right now, Queen Latifah‘s look was my favorite. She looked absolutely exquisite. Does this woman know how to look completley amazing when it’s red carpet time or what?

At first, I wasn’t sure about J Lo’s dress, but after seeing the red carpet pictures…get it girl! She is working that dress and I love it! *still trying to figure out why she was there considering the fact that she hasn’t had a hit since 2002′s Maid in Manhattan (2005 if you count Monster-In-Law)*

I really adored Miley Cyrus‘ look. She’s finally coming to a place where she dresses in an age-appropriate sophisticated manner because I can remember some less than fashionable looks from red carpets past.

Celebrity Style: Ashanti in Customized Coco and Breezy Eyewear

I recently started following @CoccoandBreezy on Twitter and came across their website. These high-style, designing twins make some seriously fierce eyewear. Am I the only one who feels like you can’t tell me anything when rocking some fly sunglasses? LOL! Pieces from the Coco and Breezy collection of couture eyewear definitely aren’t your typical. I know what you’re thinking, the word “couture” usually scares me because I instantly think mucho dinero. Surprise, surprise, the collection is definitely within reach with styles ranging from $50 to $125.

Earlier today, R & B singer Ashanti shared a picture of herself wearing a pair of Louis Vuitton glasses customized by Coco and Breezy. Cute, right? Will you be wearing a pair this summer? Be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think.

I’ve been into photography since my aunt gave me my first camera when I was about 7, 8 or whatever age kids are in the 3rd grade. It was a hot pink and purple Le Clic camera that took 110 film. I’m sure I have a picture of it somewhere. As I clearly have this thing for all things fashion, fashion photography is very appealing to me. The Scarlett Johansson for Mango shots are absolutely stunning. I’ve featured items from Mango from time to time, so if you’re unfamiliar, you should definitely check the line out. The clothes are all very reasonably priced and you’re sure to find things great for work and play from cute dresses to jeans for weekends out shopping with friends.

Artistic Interpretation: Pink’s Glitter In The Air Grammy Performance

If know that every gossip blog sites will be covering Who Wore What to the Grammy’s and let me be perfectly honest…I get completely sick and tired of the same posts over and over so I’ll spare you, my awesome readers. By now, everyone knows what Beyonce, Gaga and Taylor wore. We all had the text message, twitter and live conversations last night, so there’s really no sense in rehashing it.

Although Sole Intuition is all about insight and style, as I’ve mentioned before I am equally as passionate about music and art. When all are fused together, it’s the perfect blend of creativity, intuition and soul. My favorite performance of the awards show was Pink’s visual interpretation of Glitter in the Air (Funhouse, 2009). It was so artistic and captivating. For that reason, I’m giving Pink a “Following Your Intuition” stamp for approval. So this is my Grammy coverage. Short, sweet and to the point. Loves it!

Celebs Attend 3rd Annual Midnight Grammy Brunch: Michelle Williams, Ashanti, JoJo & More

As I patiently await the Grammy’s tonight, I decided to browse through event pictures from last night. Several celebs showed up for the 3rd Annual Midnight Grammy Brunch hosted by Neyo at W Hollywood Hotel & Residences. Let’s just say I wasn’t really impressed by anyone.

Maybe everyone’s saving their best outfits for tonight…we shall see. Of the pictures I saw, I wasn’t feeling anyone’s shoes (JoJo’s were ok), but are your thoughts? Be sure to comment and let me know.

When Fashion Goes Wrong: Khloe Kardashian At Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop Series Launch Party

I know I said that I’ll leave the celebrity sightings to gossip blogs, but it pains me each time I see someone on a red carpet anything less than well styled. It’s even worse when you know the person can do better. *thinking* To balance things out, will I now have to begin posting pictures of celebs when they get “it” right? Nope, I don’t want to get bogged down with that sort of thing. There are plenty of sites doing that.

In any event, exactly what’s going on with this look? There’s nothing at all flattering about it. I like sequins, but richer hues would have been more appealing. I’m not a fan of the asymmetric hem and “baggy” look of the dress. You’ve got to accentuate the curvature, Khloe!

When Fashion Goes Wrong: Alicia Keys Performs In Spain

I typically save the celebrity sighting posts for the gossip sites, but I just couldn’t help positing this picture of Alicia Keys from the red carpet in Spain yesterday. Her red carpet style is usually pretty ridiculous – by ridiculous, I mean amazing – but I don’t like this look one bit. Maybe it’s the pose – I’m thinking it’s the leggings and sandals – that make her look so stumpy. Whatever the case, I’m not feeling this one A Keys. I blame her stylist, her manager and whoever else saw her leaving the hotel room. The top isn’t horrible. In fact, I think if it were cinched more at the waist, it would look great. What do you think of her red carpet style?
