In a quest to prove you guys, my loyal readers who’ve stuck by me through my blogging hiatus, I’m adding new features to spice things up a bit.

I typically snap pictures of things I like while out shopping and my MMS is usually buzzing with pictures from friends who want my style advice, so I figure why not share it with you all. With that said, I’m adding a new feature, Fashion on the Fly. I’m all about virtual shopping (shopping with friends via phone while we’re both out and in stores), so I hope you all enjoy.

Bag Attitude: Marc Ecko Charisma Rounded Hobo

I’ve recently taken a liking to discount retailers like TJ Maxx and Ross. I’ve found a few bags as of late for TJ Maxx and Ross is great for home/kitchen items. I purchased the Marc Ecko Charisma Rounded Hobo Friday evening. I actually entered the store with one thing in mind and came out with the bag instead…that seems to happen to me alot for whatever reason. As I didn’t know the style name, I Goodle’d Maro Ekco and to my surprise, I found the exact bag on Macy’s site – for $79.00. Learning that I saved $40 makes me happy!

The bag features a removable shoulder strap (I kept the strap on as I figured it added another element of interest) =, whipstitch and stud detailing; double E tag and two organization pockets. The color is actually closer to a tomato red than what the pictures illustrate.

Since I found the Steve Madden bag in my neighborhood TJ Maxx a few weeks ago, I’ve made it a point to visit once a week to see what I can find.I snagged this black and white clutch last week because I figured it would be great for a night out. It was also available in black and gold, but I thought this one popped a little more. Priced at $14.99, even if I only carry it once, I will get my money’s worth. The Toledano Jewel Love Bag it’s super adorable and I wish I could say super affordable but umm…not so much! It’s smaller than a clutch – it looks like the size of a coin purse - but ladies you need big dollars if you ever wanted to own it. I wonder who can afford to pay for a coin purse. Fantasy Files: Bottega Veneta Cocolave Crocodile Tote

The bright green hue of the Bottega Veneta Cocolave Crocodile Tote grabbed my attention right away. It was only when I saw the price tag that I had to check it out further because I figured it was made of some extinct (yes, I meant extinct, not endangered) animal. That’s the only rationale I could come up with to explain a $24,000 handbag. That’s like walking around carrying your student loans, a car or a down payment on your arm. As my bff would say, they are real proud of their stuff. Clearly.

The vibrant green crocodile tote features pewter-tone hardware. It has a short handle with ring detail, a detachable small press-stud fastening case with key and padlock inside, Intrecciato and eyelet detailing at top, a fold-over flap at front, a taupe suede lining, an interior zip-fastening pocket, an interior pouch pocket and stud feet at base. Seriously, I was waiting to read something like, “this bag comes with a two round trip tickets to Bottega Veneta factory to watch them being made”.

Luckily I already purchased a bag in the same color family so I’ll be just fine this Spring. With my purchase, I saved a grand total of $23,970. Ha!

Fantasy Files: Jimmy Choo Daphne Leopard-Print & Neon Clutch

Since my mother made me purchase a clutch for an event, I have a new found love for them. I was browsing Saks and I came across Jimmy Choo Daphne Leopard-Print & Neon Clutch. One word – hauteness! I never imagine something so small could be so expensive. I mean, I can’t even fit all my belongings in it. Nevertheless, it’s very, very cute.

It’s made of nappa leather and soft, leopard-printed pony hair and has a sliding closure. The silk lined clutch measures 9″ w X 7″ h X 1″ d. I think I’m In Love with the Betsey Johnson Purr-fection Dome Bag. I have always been a fan of the Betsey Johnson collection her handbags to be exact. She never seems to disappoint. One of the best things about Twitter is all of the great people that you “meet” and get to interact with on a constant. I’ve connect with several people who share my love for shopping, most notably, Candee. I don’t know which of us is worse, but we both manage to make a few purchases each week. One of her purchases last week was the London Fog Audrey Tote.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you’re heading over to Endless, the color she has is unavailable. Nevertheless, its available in a cranberry/brown color.The tote has a crinkle-textured patent finish and features water-resistant linings, a divided interior and lots of pockets to keep your daily necessities in order. Bag Attitude: Steve Madden Tote

Over the last few weeks, I’ve gained a new appreciate for mega discount retailers like TJ Maxx. Though I’m still convinced that those in the Northeast get the best merchandise, I give the store located near my house a solid “B”. I’d been in search of a new bag for the last several weeks and hadn’t really found anything that “moved me”. I wasn’t necessary looking for an expensive or certain bag, I just wanted something new. Yesterday, I found the Steve Madden Tote and I could not leave it in the store.

The bag is a coral hue and has brass studding along its front pleats. It has two handles, storage compartments on the interior and a zip closure. I’m looking forward to adding this burst of color to my Spring bag line up. Have you purchased any new handbags that you just can wait to carry? I think it’s safe to say that Bag Attitude is one of my favorite topics to blog about. When I saw The Extras Edison Bag, I was attracted to it but I realized I have a million other bags that are made just like it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I don’t own a blue handbag – *thinking* what’s wrong with me? There’s just something about a quilted bag that I find so appealing, so divine. I think they make such a dignified statement. Though I’m not typically a fan of red, the Marc Jacobs Desir Stam Quilted Leather Satchel caught my eye.

The stunning satchel has been updated for the season in luxurious quilted leather with cracked and stamped finish. It has double handles, a long detachable shoulder strap and gold-tone hardware. It also features an exterior zip pocket and top kisslock closure with interior zip pocket.

If the price were say, $1000 less expensive, it would so make it’s way home with me. But it’s not…so it won’t. It will remain an item on my ever-expanding Fantasy File.

Since I’ve been working so hard lately, I do believe it’s about time I purchase myself a designer bag. Though I’m looking for a bag that will have a bit more longevity (and a lower price tag), I still can’t help but find myself coveting the Burberry Prorsum Medium Osprey Leather Tote.

The silver leather tote, having a fringing effect, features one handle, ruching at the sides, studs on the base and has black designer-stamped lining. Bag Attitude: Juicy Couture Generation Y Juicy Studded Canvas Tote

I’m one of those people who believes that certain brands come with expiration dates. By expiration dates, I mean age limits. There’s nothing worse that seeing someone wearing something appropriate for a 12 year old and they’re 25.

It’s not my intent to offend anyone who likes the brand, but I feel that way about Juicy Couture. I think the brand is perfectly suited for anyone under the age of 18 – actually, I’ve say 21, but beyond that…not so much. However, when I stumbled upon the Juicy Couture Generation Y Juicy Studded Canvas Tote, I almost considered purchasing it for gym use. I figured it would be large enough to tote around my towel, water bottle, jacket and whatever else I decide to throw in my bag.

The canvas vote features double shoulder straps, a top concealed magnetic snap closure with an interior zip pouch and cell phone pocket. What do you think? Is it gym worthy? Would you even pay that much for a gym bag? Be sure to comment and let me know what you think.

How Much Are You Willing To Spend In Discount Stores?

Last night, I went to Ross Dress for Less. I wasn’t going for anything particular as sometimes, I just like to browse to see what they have. Majority of my purchases are home decor and every once in a while I might find a top or dress…never handbags, and I mean never. Their selection as compared to say, TJ Maxx, is unparalleled. I found the Guess Metallic Hobo and contemplated purchasing it, but since I wasn’t really too crazy about the grommets/stones at the top, I decided to forgo the purchase. I was perfectly willing – or at least I thought I was – to spend the $70 because I typically spend more on handbags. Then that question that I always ask myself when I’m in a discount store popped in my mind: “Do I really want to pay that much…in here?”

Why is it that I see no problem with spending $70 – or more – at Belk or a boutique, but when in Ross or TJ Maxx I feel as if they’ve lost their minds because how dare they charge so much? What’s that all about exactly? My bff and I have had this conversation more than once and the only thing I could come up with is knowing that items are typically last season, defective or something and that’s why they end up in the discount chain.

What are your thoughts? Are you willing to spend the same amount regardless of where you are? I’m really interested in knowing your thoughts, so please be sure to comment.

I am in complete awe of a designer I recently discovered. Shana Luther of SML Bags is a creative genius. There’s nothing that gets me more excited than discovering a new designer (whether established and just new to me or completely up and coming). The SML Bags collection is full of feminine, playful goodness and I couldn’t stop myself from ordering one. I figure handbag lovers fall into a few different categories. Those who don’t want to spend a ton because they like to switch them out frequently and those who completely go for the gusto and buy it because they just have to have it…not so surprisingly, I fit into the later.

The 12 x 7 hand painted cotton herringbone clutch features a pleated detail on front and back, metal zipper closure with blue or green leather tassel, lined in pinstripe denim, fabric has gold threads throughout. As the bag is hand painted (by Kimberly Gill), no two will be completley alike.

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I spent the last week making purchases of a dress and accessories for a wedding I attended Saturday. After searching a few sites for the perfect black clutch, I decided to scope out the Belk near my house because they’re always having a sale and I was sure to find something. I actually didn’t make it until the store until Saturday afternoon (the wedding was at 5 pm), but I didn’t walk away empty handed. As my dress had a black lace overlay, I wanted a clutch that was simple and chic and I found just that. Because of the dresses neckline, I opted for danging earring rather than a necklace and the entire look turned out great. *pats self on back*

I’ve always been into big bags because you can fit so many things into them. I’ve never really given clutches a second thought, but since I’m getting my Valentine’s Day outfit together, I’ve determined that I’ll need a clutch – my mom’s words, not mine. Bag Attitude: Hilary Radley Stony Island Handbag

I can always count on Lulu’s for great accessories. If only they’d extend apparel to include plus size, I’d add them to my list of one-stop shops. The Hilary Radley Stony Island Handbag is classic Just C. Totes and satchels are my bags of choice so anytime I come across one that fits the profile, I usually can’t resist temptation. Hence the reason storage is a major issue for me.

The bag features a shiny and textured exterior in metallic silver and bronze to resemble snake skin. It has two large coffee vegan suede handles as well as a detachable brown fabric strap. The interior, to my surprise, is a brightly colored flower printed lining with two open pockets on one side and a zipped pocket on the other. In the middle, there’s a center pocket that has its own zipper closure. That seems like plenty of storage for me.

Bag Attidude: Aldo Miglianico Handbag

I love the idea of getting a two for one. Tops with necklaces attached, bags with scarfs, basically anything that makes me feel as if I’m getting more bang for my buck. The Aldo Miglianico Handbag would be a great bag for Spring. I love the sophistication the scarf lends to the bag. My only apprehension is some of the luck – or lack thereof – I’ve had with Aldo bags. Either a)the quality of them aren’t that stellar or b)I try to carry way too much stuff in them and they end up falling apart.

What Are You Supposed To Do With The Free Gift With Purchase Bag Anyway?

I received new perfume (Marc Jacobs Lola and Jessica Simpson Fantasy to be exact) upon returning from my holiday vacation. Along with the perfume, I got several freebies, one of which included the Guess bag below. It’s really cute but I always find myself wondering what I should do with it. The other night on Twitter, several people, including myself, started an#unfashionable hashtag. There were lots of completely hilarious ones and a few people seemed to get a kick out of mine: “Using the free w/purchases gift as a handbag = unfashionable.”

Which leads to be the question. Exactly what are you supposed to do with the free gifts with purchase? Be sure to comment and let me know your suggestions.

I pretty much visit my neighborhood Target several times each week. Over the holidays, I think for the first time in a long time, I grew tired of going there because it didn’t seem like the shelves were getting stocked quickly enough for me. I browsed through the handbag section last night and discovered that Ed Hardy is the latest to add a collection to Target’s lineup. I may be totally late on this as I haven’t been in the mega retailer in a few weeks, but I wanted to share my finds with you all known nonetheless. Bag Attitude: Jessica Simpson Element Tote

I saw this bag while browsing through Dillard’s this afternoon. I only starting purchasing Jessica Simpson handbags recently, but I’ve discovered that they are great quality and very reasonably priced. Since the yellow Aldo bag I purchased last year BROKE while I was out shopping (I was pretty angry, might I add), I need another one as yellow a great burst of color for warmer months.

The Jessica Simpson Element Tote is a great size of everyday use. The two handle bag is available in a multitude of colors, so take your pick. I’m going with yellow, or marigold per the product description. The list price of the bag is $108.00 on pretty much every site I found except QVC. If you’re interested in saving a few dollars, the shopping network might the way to go. Who would of thought?

I’m not certain if I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m not into clutches as much as I am into large totes and satchel bags. Whenever I find a clutch worth writing about, you should probably take note because that must mean it’s pretty amazing.

The Ichi-V Kakkioii Clutch is so feminine and delicious. It’s made of 100% cotton and covered in vinyl. This would be a great bag for work or a Saturday brunch with friends.

Travel Style: Hollywood Intuition Weekender Bag

By the time you’ll read this, I would have made it safely to my holiday destination. Packing was a bit of a nightmare considering my stay will be through the new year. Can you image trying to pack enough clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories to last, coupled with the fact of knowing you’ll return with more than you left home with? Now, you understand my turmoil.

When traveling, especially in the airport, it’s important – super important to me – to have a nice carry on/weekend bag. I purchased the Hollywood Intuition Weekender Bag a few months ago at an awesome price. I couldn’t believe I was able to find such a great weekender that looked a lot more expensive than the $40.00 price tag. The handles are incredibly sturdy and it’s very spacious inside. It was so worth the purchase!

With Christmas upon us, travel season is in full effect. With travel, that means packing up all of your important gadgets like your laptop and iPod. I have a pretty healthy amount of Bag Attitude, so there’s absolutely no way that I can have anything other than a really stylishly laptop bag. Forget about those ugly black or brown leather ones and don’t even mention the ones that roll (I cringe at the mere thought of them in spite of how convenient they might be).

Hong Kong label Twiztt has some of the chicest designs, at affordable prices, that I’ve ever seen. There are several styles and price points from which to choose, but as always I have my favorites. The only draw back is that each may be a bit more stylish than practical as none have shoulder straps.

I’m not a label wh*re in the least. I own designer things, but I also find satisfaction in purchasing great things at off the cuff shops and boutiques. It doesn’t have to be a label for me to love it. Now that I’ve prefaced that, let me just say that I am enamored by all things Tory Burch. I’m sure I don’t need to give a wiki description of the divine-ness that she represents. So yes, I love her enough to spend more than $200 on a nylon tote. Hey, what can I say?

Any woman who loves handbags is alright with me. Mia was fortunate enough to grab the Steve Madden Ruffle Satchel during an Endless.com one day sale just a few days ago. Retailers are throwing bargains at us let and right so how can we not take advantage.

The bag features dual handles with an adjustable cross body strap. It has a top zip closure with interior lining that has a back wall zip pocket and multifunctional slip pockets. The satchel measures at 14″ wide x 5″ deep x 13″ high. Mia and I share a I love of big bags, but I couldn’t help but laugh when she said, “I knew it was big, but I didn’t think it was that big.”

Fashionably Frugal: Converse One Star® Lace-Up Clutch

I don’t mind spending money on something I want nor have I ever allowed the lack of a sale to stop me from making a purchase. However, there’s nothing better than the euphoric state I float off to when I flip over a tag and see a red sticker or handwritten mark through. Pure bliss I tell you. Granted, I purchase things I don’t need and yes, I do sometimes end up making donations with tags still attached all for the sake of insane clearance prices.

I just happened to be rambling through the accessories section in my neighborhood Target when I came across the Converse One Star® Lace-Up Clutch. Oddly enough, there were three or four and each had different stickers ranging from $3 to $6 and change. Naturally, I snagged the one that was priced at $3.48. I can’t be the only one that does it. It’s still on the top shelf of one of my closets, but I’ll carry it eventually. I like the vintage look of it.

Bag Attitude: Nila Anthony Brick Lane Bag

Regardless of how many handbags are in my closet, I always manage to find a need to purchase just one more. Earlier this week, I received my Mod Cloth shipment. One of the items in my order was the Nila Anthony Brick Lane Bag. I figured the bright green hue would be great for summer, plus it was on sale for $23.99 from it’s original $60 price tag. There was just no way I was going to pass up on ordering it.

The pictures doesn’t do this bag a bit of justice because it is uber cute. So much so that I can’t wait for the clouds to part and the cold weather to go away so that I can use it. There must have been more people that felt the same way I did because although the bag is stil on sale, the price has increased. Go figure.

In support of World Aids Day, Sole Intuition is focused on all things red. I’ve never been one to wear much red as I don’t think it’s my best color (I do look pretty smokin’ in white though). Bag Attitude: FOXCiTY Quilted Faux-Fur Tote
