Ever since I saw Heidi Montag wearing Miu Miu Embellished Cotton Knee Socks, I’ve been in pursuit of a high style, affordable version. After all, there is no way I’m paying $435 for socks. Not.Gonna.Happen.
I think the Betsey Johnson These Socks Are Your Oyster are my best bet. They’re styled with dainty black ruffles, tiny grey bows and a row of five shimmery pearls. The two-tone neutral socks can be worn with just about anything, so yes, I’m ordering them, end of story. Now, the only thing left to determine is the outfit. I’ll keep you all posted on what I decide.

In case you were wondering, here are the $435.00 Miu Miu Embellished Cotton Knee Socks. Fancy, but crazy expensive, right?

Shiny Things
I can never seem to acquire enough jewelry. Just when I think I have a pretty substantial assortment, I come across something else that I just have to have. Needless to say, I can’t wait to head to Houston for the holidays to hit Charming Charlie. It’s accessory heaven and super affordable. In the meantime, I’ve fall in love.

As soon as I finish this post, I’m making a mad dash back over to AKIRA to purchase the AKIRA Mix Bead Necklace. Granted I haven’t quite figured out what I’ll pair it with, that’s really of no concern at this point. I absolutely love it! As I previously mentioned, I love statement pieces and this is a bold one! On second thought, it would look great paired with something basic like a solid long sleeve tee. Yes, I do believe so.

You guessed it. I’m equally into rings as I am bags, clothes, shoes and well, just basically stuff. I love the idea of statement pieces. Sure, there are times that I may wear as many as 8 different brackets on one arm but there are times when one over-the-top loud piece will do. There are quite a few designers who are going completely 80s retro chic. Think Melody Eshani and Kerin Rose. While I’m considering purchasing items from each of their collections, I still have to decide if I’m going to spend $75.00 for a Melody Eshani Chain Pow Gun Ring when I may not wear it more than once or twice.
There are always less expensive alternatives if you’re not willing to splurge on uber trendy pieces. The ZAD Hoot Hoot Ring and the Brave Bracelet are adorable picks if you want to have 80s flare on a 2009 recession-conscious budget.

As if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie need to make one more dollar, the superstar actors/humanitarians/super parents/whatever else they’re into these days are adding jewelry designers to their resumes.
